Pixlr in action

By Gillian Allard

Over the last couple of weeks, photographer Gillian Allard’s Create posts have introduced Pixlr, a free app used for editing photos on our mobile phones.

She has also been running a couple of Zoom sessions with poet Dean Parkin, in which the pair have combined text and images; you can see the results by visiting the Hands Up post on the Community page

Gillian has also produced a series of short videos, explaining how to download the free app and then apply some of its basic editing functions.

Each video provides a simple, step-by-step approach to using Pixlr … and we start with a brief tutorial on how to use the timer on your mobile phone camera – it can make all the difference between capturing the image you want to take, or ending up with a blurry picture of something a bit like a fluffy cat.

As ever, we’d love to see what you do with your images – please send them to us at mdf@suffolkartlink.org.uk and we’ll post them up on the blog for everyone to enjoy.
