Meet up with others … albeit remotely

Over the last 12 months, our artists came up with lots of different ways to creatively introduce the basics of certain digital technologies, from downloading and using editing apps to jazz up your photos to how to get the most out of Zoom.

We’ve run poetry workshops, radio drama listening sessions, used padlet to map some of our favourite trees and added text to images to create multi-layered pictures.

Just as we have used the Make, Do & Friends creative sessions to introduce some of these technical resources so, too, we have used social media platforms like Zoom to introduce new creative activities.

We’ve worked with volunteers on a Buddy Up scheme, to develop skills, confidence and ideas for engaging with people, and our Talking Trees intervention encouraged individuals to imagine and create conversations between trees and share them via padlet.

Our final Zoom session is on Monday, 29th March, when poet Dean Parkin and choreographer Tim Casson will be bringing the dictionary to the dance floor in a creative session to celebrate all things Make, Do & Friends.
